Now available: Sound healing!
I’m excited to tell you about a new mode of healing I’m introducing. It’s sound healing, and already I’m seeing exciting results with clients.
It started, as many good things in life do, with cats. Do a Google search for cats purring and healing, and you will find evidence that cats purr at a frequency that facilitates healing. The vibration at which a cat purrs has calming effects and also some physical healing effects.
Next, I thought about these things as they relate to my own cat. I started noticing that when someone in my house is hurt, either physically or emotionally, he gravitates to that person. And he starts purring, and he holds himself close to a hurt area. If someone is feeling sad, he stretches himself out as long as he can against the person, with as much of his body as he can, and purrs away. He’s a natural healer!
I also thought about the feeling I get when I’m in the middle of a gong bath (if you haven’t done this: Run to it, don’t walk!). I feel shifts and releases in my body. I feel things change with my mental health and my energy; and because I feel these changes, I also feel them physically.
For my sound healing, I use tuning forks that are calibrated to vibrations that facilitate healing. In your first session, which takes an hour, we get to know each other and then do a 20- to 30-minute treatment with the tuning forks, which I hold near your ears and near different parts of your body. Repeat sessions can be either 30 or 45 minutes, whatever the client desires, because our check-in time will be a little shorter.
People who have experienced this report a sense of calming and energizing. We tend to think of calm as “being chill,” but really, we are clearing mental and emotional space to allow for energy and our own natural healing. In my sessions so far, I find sound healing to be very effective at this.
